Can high-school students volunteer with HWF in Kenya?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Since 2015 more than 100 volunteers have travelled to the Maasai Mara with HWF, over 70% of them youth and high-school students, joining field conservation work and leadership training. The Global Sustainability Leadership Program (GSLP) is the structured route for high-school students. What is the Lion Scholarship?

The Lion Scholarship is HWF's education initiative for children in the Maasai Mara, with a particular focus on girls' schooling. It was founded by Simba (Qiang Zhuo), Xiaoling Cao, Ashley Qu, Simon Masago and Xuejing Chen, and donations to it go directly to school fees and supplies for Maasai students. / 狮子奖学金是 HWF 面向马赛马拉儿童的教育项目，尤其关注女童教育。由星巴（卓强）、曹筱玲、Ashley Qu、西蒙·马萨哥、陈雪晶共同发起，捐款直接用于马赛学生的学费与学习用品。

What is the Mara Natural History Center?

It is the Maasai Mara's first natural history museum, opened on 1 September 2026 at Ngoswani after three years of building, founded by Simba Qiang Zhuo, Xiaoling Cao, Yong Liu and Simon Masago, with HWF leading the fundraising for the building and its exhibitions.
